Remember
Reach back,
stitch mind to mind
with those who lived before.
Enlarge your memory piece
by piece until you’ve scrapped
together whole cloth
of God’s interaction with man.
Note the patterns,
how those who keep covenants
are quilted thick and strong
while those who rebel
are trimmed away like frayed
edges from torn fabric.
Now,
take up your small,
simple needle
and set your hand
to mending.
