Refining

In the last days,
you will find wells without water,
but not empty—

they bubble over oily darkness,
fuel for all-consuming,
inward fires.

Don’t fill your lamps from them.
Don’t touch match
to that slick of pollution.

Let Christ burn you clean.
He will take you from ashes,
pure and ready to pour.
